School Resumes

I posted on Monday about school resuming and a letter they dated to that effect which was pasted on the school notice board. I talked about how there demands were ludicrous and they should consider us but this fell on deaf ears as none of our students seem to care of the severity of this notice. Only when they start enforcing it or actually add extra ten thousand on the normal fees for late payment are most of us going to acknowledge the injustice in this system. Our mates in federal schools pay less than us and they are given ample time to clear their debts but in Ebsu, NO! You either pay or go to hell. You will be advised to withdraw for a year or more, depending on your capabilities. Nobody cares. Let us all join hands and fight this system. South African students protested last week on the hike in there school fees. It garnered world headlines and there voices were heard. The school had no option but too reduce the school fees with immediate effect. The power of aluta! Here in Nigeria, or Ebsu, when we try to fight for our rights, we are arrested. Two years back Ebsu second year students protested the non reduction of their school fees. Some were arrested, and the school Was on indefinite strike for 2months. They came back and were met with various sanctions. Sad day for aluta. Sad day for education in Nigeria. If Ebsu implements what was written on the memo pasted in school, I'm afraid lots of students will drop. Is that the best? We appeal to them to give us time, that is all we ask. Janury is close already. Aluta Continua!!!
